ShowMe South Africa

30 million litres of water a day – crystal clear, absolutely pure, and the lifeblood of Kuruman. The Eye of Kuruman is a natural spring in the middle of the Kalahari that not only waters the Kuruman Valley, but a provides a cool, green paradise around a lillied pond, complete with palms and willow trees in the middle of the otherwise bone dry Kalahari.

It is a true natural oasis – a dolomitic spring, and it has helped transform the Valley and town of Kuruman into an extended oasis in the desert.

The Eye is situated in the centre of Kuruman in the Main Street and is surrounded by a beautiful park with a cafe and curio shop.

You may not fish in the Eyes of Kuruman as it is home to a rare cyclid species.
