The Gecko Hiking Trail, Montagu

Gecko Hike MontaguThe Gecko Hiking Trail is a 30km multi-day wilderness hiking trail.

Day one takes you from the beautiful Nuy valley near Worcester at the western end, via the Nuy River Gorge, to Simonskloof in the centre. Day two takes you via the ridge of the Langeberg to Langdam in the middle of the Koo valley.

Simonskloof Mountain Retreat, the middle of the hike offers a couple of different accommodation options from camping under the oak trees to self-catering in a farm cottage or dinner bed and breakfast at the old farmhouse. Activities range from “doing nothing at all” to hiking, swimming, bird watching, kloofing, abseiling and mountain biking just to mention a few.
