The Johannesburg Zoo is situated in the northern suburb of Parkview, and is an established popular local family and tourist attraction.
Exhibits at the zoo include: ‘Amazonia’ which features animals from the Amazon basin, the ‘Anglogold Lion Enclosure’ which includes the rare white lion, the ‘Ape House’ where you can see chimpanzees, orangu-tans and the magnificent Central African gorilla, ‘Cheetah Slopes’, ‘Crocodile Country’, ‘Madagascar’ and the ‘Reptile House’. For children there is an education centre and a touch farm.
Several tours are offered around the zoo, taking in specific areas, such the ‘Family Fun’ and ‘Zoo Snoose’.
The Johannesburg Zoo also often features events, such as the annual Halloween Festival, and educational events and talks.

Getting there: The JHB Zoo is situated on the corner between Jan Smuts Avenue and Upper Park Drive in Parkview, Northern JHB. The main public entrance is on Upper Park Drive.
