South Africa

Your world in one place

The Num-Num Hiking Trail, named after the forest ‘Num-Num’ tree, is one of the newest and most exciting hiking trails to have been established in South Africa. It is the first 5-day trail in the country to be situated on private land with three different country estates collaborating on the route.

The trail has already been dubbed by many hikers as ‘five days in heaven’ and spans a short distance of only 50-km, making for a relaxed and easy 10-km walking distance a day.

Situated on the lip of the mighty Drakensberg escarpment, the trail provides spectacular views of the dramatic landscapes of this region.

It also takes you through ancient San hunting lands and through valleys with secret waterfalls and crystal pools that make for perfect rest stops along the way. The Num-Num trail is the perfect family activity as the ‘slack-packing’ option makes your experience as care and hassle free as possible. Trail info and more
