Theewaterskloof Dam, VillersdorpThe Theewaterskloof Dam is beautifully set, between Franschhoek and Villiersdorp, surrounded by farmlands, majestic mountains and a variety of wildlife.

With the establishment of the Theewater Sports Club (TSC) in 1979, the dam has grown to become one of the largest water sports clubs in the Western Cape.

Theewaterskloof Dam, Villersdorp SailingThe club is laid out on a beautiful peninsula stretching into the Theewaterskloof dam, and club members and public visitors actively participate and compete in keelboat, multihull and dinghy sailing, power boating, jet skiing, water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing and fresh water bass and carp angling.

Theewaterskloof Dam, Villersdorp AnglingKnown for its large and small mouth black bass, the huge Theewaterskloof Dam is rated as one of Southern Africa’s top large-mouth bass venues, with some trout and carp. A boat is a good idea although fishing from the shore is possible in certain areas.

There is a camping site at the dam, with tent spots and seven sites connected to electrical plug points. The neat and clean ablution facilities at the Theewaterskloof Dam camping site are serviced daily. As fires are not allowed, bring a portable braai or use the braai facilities at the public section of the club. There is a small shop at the clubhouse. There is a policy of silence between 22h00 and 10h00.
