Thomas River Historical Village is situated in the farming community of Cathcart in the scenic Eastern Cape.
Nestled on the slopes of the Amathole Mountain Range, this village offers guests simple and comfortable accommodation including various activities and places of interest to visit.
The village boasts its own library and 4 museums displaying wagons from yesteryear, rock art, vintage motor cars and pubs. It also has the Ramble Restaurant ensuring visitors have a variety of foods to choose from, each prepared deliciously and traditionally. Activities in and around Cathcart also include hiking, hunting, fishing and paintballing. A plethora of birdlife will amaze the avid birder.
Accommodation is made up of 25 classically decorated private cottages which are all fully equipped for self catering purposes. Braai facilities are available at each cottage where guests can enjoy sundowners while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding area.
This unique village is about 20 minutes outside Cathcart off the road to Stutterheim.
