Umdoni Park Golf Course is located in the Umdoni Park Trust lands – 210 Ha of typical KwaZulu-Natal vegetation near Pennington on the south coast. The park derives its name from the Umdoni trees scattered throughout the estate. The golf course is fairly hilly and takes you through the typical vegetation of the Park with wonderful views of the Indian Ocean.
The course is fairly short but challenging nonetheless, with the front nine running along the seafront and the back nine penetrating some rich indigenous forest. The changes in elevation will require some serious judgement and shot-making but will also provide some magnificent vistas.
This course should not be underestimated – it has hosted some of the major amateur events in KwaZulu-Natal. It is a real pleasure to play but becomes more challenging when the North Easterly winds are blowing.
