Weltevrede has been in the Jonker Family Wine Estate since 1912 and has since become an exclusive Chardonnay-only wine estate.
Since 1912 Lourens Jonker has been a pioneering figure in the South African wine industry and is a past chairman of KWV. His son, Phillip, runs the estate today and is well known as a Chardonnay specialist. His Chardonnay Cap Classique was chosen to be served to Premium Class passengers by South African Airways during the 2010 World Cup.
Weltevrede Cellar launched a new wine brand; Cape Wine Crafters which houses all Weltevrede wines that do not fall within the premium Chardonnay and Cap Classique offering of WELTEVREDE, wines such as Cherrychoc Merlot and Vanilla Chardonnay as well as some exciting new creations.
